Dr. Denis Meyer retired from practice in March 2026 after many years of caring for patients in the Southgate community.
While Dr. Meyer is no longer practicing, he is pleased to recommend that his existing patients continue their eye care with the experienced doctors at Southgate Eye Care. Our team remains committed to providing the same high standard of personalized, comprehensive eye care to every patient.

About Dr. Denis Meyer
Dr. Denis Meyer grew up in Kelowna, BC, and has lived in Sherwood Park for the past 27 years. Dr. Meyer and his wife of 33 years, Kathleen, have two grown sons and a new daughter-in-law. Outside of work, Dr. Meyer enjoys golfing, cheering on the Edmonton Oilers, and traveling around the world to connect with family and friends. He values ethics, honesty, and respecting others.
Dr. Meyer obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Calgary and his Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo. He is a member of the CAO and AAO.
With 28 years of experience, Dr. Meyer is passionate about providing exemplary patient care and serving multigenerational families. His interest in ocular healthcare began after an ocular medical incident with his father. Dr. Meyer takes pride in his team’s ability to solve problems and ensure patient satisfaction. He believes his patients value his honest and direct approach, and ensures they leave his office with a clear understanding of their eye health and options.
